Preguntas frecuentes

At what age can ADHD be diagnosed?

ADHD can be reliably assessed from age 6 onwards, although signs may appear earlier. In adults, diagnosis is also possible and increasingly common. At Gen Psychology we evaluate children, adolescents and adults.

What does an ADHD evaluation involve?

Our evaluation includes clinical interviews, standardised psychometric tests (attention scales, executive function batteries), behavioural observation and, for children, coordination with the school. The full process typically spans 3 to 6 hours across several sessions.

How much does the assessment cost and how long does it take?

The ADHD assessment has a fixed price of €400 and includes the initial interview, all standardised tests (between 3 and 6 hours, spread over several sessions), the feedback session and the report. The full process usually takes between 3 and 4 weeks from the first interview to the delivery of the report.

Is the report valid for the Spanish NEAE grant (beca NEAE)?

Yes. The report meets the requirements to apply for the Ministry of Education grant for pupils with Specific Educational Support Needs (NEAE): it includes the diagnosis with its ICD-11 and DSM-5-TR codes, a description of the impact at school and recommendations for the school.

How do we get started?

Message us on WhatsApp or through the contact form and we will offer you a first appointment to understand the case. If you then decide to go ahead with the assessment, that first session counts as the initial interview and its fee is deducted from the €400 of the full process.

Is ADHD only about hyperactivity?

No. There are three presentations: predominantly inattentive (often missed, especially in girls), predominantly hyperactive-impulsive, and combined. Many children and adults with the inattentive subtype go undiagnosed because they don't "cause trouble".

Do you prescribe medication for ADHD?

As psychologists we do not prescribe medication. However, if the evaluation suggests it could be beneficial, we coordinate with trusted psychiatrists. Our therapy focuses on executive function training, emotional regulation and behavioural strategies.

How long does ADHD therapy last?

Each case is different. Typically, we recommend an initial block of 12-16 weekly sessions to establish strategies, followed by fortnightly follow-up. Sessions last 45-60 minutes.

Do you issue official reports for schools?

Yes. After the ADHD evaluation we deliver a detailed clinical report valid for schools (public, concertados and private), useful to request academic accommodations within the Comunidad Valenciana.
