At what age can autism be diagnosed?

ASD can be reliably diagnosed from age 2-3, although many children — especially girls and those with milder presentations — are not identified until later. There is no upper age limit; adolescent and adult diagnosis is also possible and increasingly common.

What does an autism evaluation involve?

Our evaluation includes standardised tools (ADOS-2, ADI-R), clinical observation, developmental history interviews with parents, and coordination with the school. The process spans several sessions to ensure a thorough and accurate assessment.

How much does the assessment cost and how long does it take?

The autism assessment has a fixed price of €400 and includes the initial interview, all standardised tests (between 3 and 6 hours, spread over several sessions), the feedback session and the report. The full process usually takes between 3 and 4 weeks from the first interview to the delivery of the report.

Is the report valid for the Spanish NEAE grant (beca NEAE)?

Yes. The report meets the requirements to apply for the Ministry of Education grant for pupils with Specific Educational Support Needs (NEAE): it includes the diagnosis with its ICD-11 and DSM-5-TR codes, a description of the impact at school and recommendations for the school.

Does autism mean my child won't have a normal life?

Absolutely not. Autism is a spectrum with enormous diversity. With proper support, most autistic individuals lead fulfilling lives. Our role is to provide them with tools to navigate a world that isn't always designed for their neurotype, while celebrating their unique strengths.

Can autism and ADHD co-occur?

Yes, comorbidity is very common. Research suggests that up to 50-70% of autistic individuals also meet criteria for ADHD. Additionally, giftedness can co-occur (twice-exceptionality), complicating the diagnostic picture. Our evaluations address all these possibilities.

Do you work with the school?

Yes, school coordination is a fundamental part of our approach. We provide detailed reports, recommend specific accommodations, and can meet directly with teachers and school counsellors to ensure consistent support across environments.

Do you offer in-person autism evaluation in Valencia?

Yes. Our clinic is in central Valencia and authorised by the Generalitat Valenciana (Sanidad GVA). We attend families from the whole metropolitan area — Paterna, Burjassot, Torrent, Alboraya, Catarroja and surroundings — and also offer online follow-up across Spain.

Are your reports accepted by Valencian schools?

Yes. The clinical report we deliver after an ASD evaluation is valid for any school in the Comunidad Valenciana (public, concertados and private) and useful to request specific accommodations and inclusion plans.
