Preguntas frecuentes

At what age can dyslexia be diagnosed?

Reliable diagnosis is possible from age 7-8, once formal reading instruction is well underway. However, early warning signs can be identified from age 5 (e.g., difficulty with phonological awareness, rhyming). Early intervention dramatically improves outcomes.

Will my child always have dyslexia?

Dyslexia is a lifelong neurological difference — it doesn't "go away." However, with proper intervention, children develop compensatory strategies that allow them to read and write effectively. Many successful adults are dyslexic. The goal is not to "cure" it but to equip your child with the right tools.

Is dyslexia related to intelligence?

Absolutely not. Dyslexia has nothing to do with intelligence. In fact, many children with dyslexia have average or above-average intelligence, and some also have giftedness profiles (twice-exceptionality). The difficulty is specifically in decoding written language.

How long does dyslexia intervention last?

Intervention is typically medium to long-term: 6-12 months of weekly sessions to build solid reading foundations, followed by periodic follow-up. Each session lasts 45-60 minutes. Consistency and school coordination are key to progress.

Can dyslexia co-occur with ADHD?

Yes, comorbidity between dyslexia and ADHD is very common (30-50% of cases). When both are present, an integrated approach is essential. Our evaluations are designed to detect these overlapping profiles.

Do you offer in-person dyslexia treatment in Valencia?

Yes. Our clinic is in central Valencia and authorised by the Generalitat Valenciana (Sanidad GVA). We attend families from the whole metropolitan area — Paterna, Burjassot, Torrent, Alboraya, Catarroja and surroundings — and also offer online sessions across Spain.

Are your reports valid for Valencian schools?

Yes. The clinical report we deliver after a dyslexia evaluation is valid for any school in the Comunidad Valenciana to request specific learning accommodations and individualised support plans.
